The Beat Goes On... Podcast
#4 [15-04-06]
This week I interview Jimmy Payne. Master drummer, creative genius, and all around good guy. Jimmy is one of the artists who helped establish the R & B scene in Canada. He's played drums for such R & B legends as Spencer Davis, King Curtis, Little Milton, Pinetop Perkins, John Hammond, and more.
Jimmy's drumming is as fiery as any I've ever heard but what really makes him stand out from the pack is the level of control and experience which he applies to every single performance. He listens very closely to the rest of the band and has an uncanny instinct for making sure the parts he plays always hit the sweet spot and make the band shine, no matter what else is going on onstage.
